They also had no idea what benefits I should get ($10 food voucher per guest). Neither one knew what to do- they didn't yell, but they didn't make it better either. At the front desk was a woman and who I can only imagine her manager. It probably was, but still it is Marriotts fault and they should be trained to apologize and make good on the bad situation. They never once apologized- they just kept explaining it wasn't their fault it was the system being broken. She just yelled and cursed and yelled some more. I understand, but we all made it to the front desk and the employees had no idea how to diffuse the situation. When we went to our room (paid for the suite), we walked into another family sleeping there- the mother freaked out. So yeah it is not high caliber service to say the least, but what do you expect when the hotel is so disgusting. The service: First off, I feel sorry for the staff that has to work in that environment. Super 8 wouldn't claim this as a property- that I am certain. The parking lot was so full of construction materials you couldn't find parking. The shower was moldy and musty and every surface that could be stained was- down to the bedskirt and what I can only think was dried smeared poop on the chair next to the bed. It smells, it is dirty, I wouldn't eat there, and I nearly left because our room was dirty, but the bed was not- that kept us there. The hotel: There is dust, and boxes everywhere. This hotel should be shut down until the badly needed renovations are completed. I don't blame them for the bad service as a Platinum member I blame Marriott. The hotel is in complete disarray and the employees are poorly trained, but doing their best. So I think this hotel could really shine but first they need to get their staff motivated to be there and serve guests.…īelieve the bad reviews here. When I checked in my room had no hand soap and the person checking me in just seemed to have a “deer in the headlights look” about it and I had to suggest that she get soap from an unoccupied vacant room (which she did). They just seemed like their mind was focused somewhere else. I just walked away feeling like the staff didn’t know how to meet the needs of the corporate business traveler. They had their AirPods in while in view of guests so I was confused if they were talking to me or someone on the phone. The staff wore graphic t-shirts and had no name tags so you had no idea who was actually working there. So the reason for my low rating is all related to the staff. I found the workout room to be more expansive than other Courtyards - didn’t have that dungeon feeling. Bed was comfy and the interior room features were tastefully decorated. I say mostly because the elevator was not upgraded and I’m not sure they replaced the toilets when the6 redid the rooms. Positives are that this is a mostly newly renovated Courtyard.
